If you haven’t heard of Monsanto, they are the company that decides the fate of most vegetables found at grocery stores around the world. They are responsible for GMOs in food supplies, harmful pesticides, farmer bullying, unfair lawsuits, questionable lobbying, and cornering crop markets…….basically a morally bankrupt company…… read on about a French farmer finally getting justice!

VEG recently added a new Southern California client to receive our patented custom gardens. Legoland has confirmed that we will be building 2 8ft. tall gardens for their Fun Town Market area. We will complete the install sometime in January and will be growing fresh parsley and varieties of basil.

Mike and I were completely taken back by Legoland’s commitment to sourcing the freshest food and produce they could find. Also impressive, was the fact that they cook most meals right in front of you as you order them!!! No greasy, deep fried, amusement park food here!

Needless to say, we are excited about our new partnership with a great company.

Nine-Ten chef Jason Knibb on Iron Chef!

Nine-Ten chef Jason Knibb competed against Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America last Sunday. I’ll let you guys read the full article to see who won! Jason is an amazing chef we met last year, and is part of the Cooks Confab group of executive chefs in San Diego. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and is extremely hard working.

Right now we are growing 2 types of butterhead, winter tomatoes, african blue basil, italian large leaf parsley, swiss chard, and chives for Jason. Feel free to stop by his restaurant in La Jolla and take a peak at our gardens on the property!

Interesting Parsley Facts

We have been growing tons of parsley for clients recently, which led me to do some more research on the herb in general. I ran across a few interesting sites that listed a bunch of nutritional facts about parsley that you might not know…….

1. Parsley has more vitamin c than oranges!
2. Parsley is good for regulating blood sugar.
3. It helps protect your retina and keeps your vision crisp the older you get.
4. It is one of the highest sources of vitamin k in any food!!!

Let’s crank up the parsley production, and find some good recipes with it as an ingredient.
